PV Panels

PV Panels

Photovoltaic (PV) cells, or also known as solar cells, convert sunlight into electricity.

The name Photovoltaic is derived from light (photo) and electricity (voltage).

PV has been around since the 1950´s, but only lately been used in households and businesses to generate power.

Solar panels used to power homes and businesses contain typically between 10 to 20 solar panels, each containing 40 solar cells. The panels are mounted facing the sun, typically south, or in more complex systems, panels are mounted on devices that track the sun.
